Making Me Think Tonight

  1. It does make you think…we should be careful, way more careful about what we say, how we act and truly being Christlike. At the same time as Christians we can't call sin or immorality anything but sin or immorality. Proverbs is very specific about hating what God hates and loving what God loves…it doesn't mean you hate the person, only the sin.

  2. Something must have gone wrong with the link Beth. I can't see the video…

  3. Thats some pimpin electronica.

    Good message too.

  4. It makes ME think ~boundaries!!!! ~where to draw the line, when you are on fire for the Lord~ The Lord has called us to LOVE…even those who curse you!!!!
“My brothers, these things should not be this way” (James 3:9-10). Christians should honor the purpose of speech by using our mouths to praise God and leading others to obey the Lord through faith in Jesus Christ. Every word we speak should be “gracious” and “seasoned with salt” (Col. 4:6). We should always ask, “What would Jesus say?” Christians are called upon to live differently and to act differently than the world of unbelievers. I do not need to speak profanity to win a cursing unbeliever anymore than I need to drink alcohol to win an alcoholic. The words of Scripture have all the POTENCY and POWER we need to reach the heart of the lost.
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, LORD, my rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).

  5. might i ask what you're thinking in response to this thoughtful piece?

  6. i am grateful you posted it, btw.

  7. Sarah –

Made me think about the assumptions made by and about Christians and Christianity.

Made me think about how offensive certain words are to the Christian culture.

Made me think about how so few examples of mainstream Christian art are edgy, weird or different. Or risky.

Made me wonder what matters most to me.

Made me wonder about the the ways I have changed over the past decade – and why.
